Performance
Fastest in History
Gamma Carry deploys the latest Thunderbolt 3 technology.
When it is fully loaded with Seagate Exos 2X18 dual-actuator hard drive, its read/write speed reaches 2606 MB/s and 1963 MB/s in R5, enough to handle and expedite large file workflows.

The max sustained transfer rate of ordinary HDD is around 200-300MB/s, according to its capacity.
Take Seagate Exos X18 18TB HDD (Model: ST18000NM000J) as an example; its max sustained transfer rate is 270MB/s.
However, that of Seagate Exos 2X18 is as high as 554MB/s, which is more than twice the performance compared with single-actuator HDD.
The bandwidth that in the past could be achieved with 12 or even 16 hard drives can now be achieved with only 8 pcs of Seagate Exos 2X18.
Although SSD can also achieve the performance of 500-550MB/s, its capacity is much smaller than HDD, and the price is prohibitive.
Moreover, SSD also has a limit on the number of writes.
As the number of writes increases, it not only affects its performance, but also affects the life cycle of the SSD and shortens its lifespan.
Therefore, in terms of cost-performance ratio, total cost, space configuration, utilization conveniency, etc., Seagate Exos 2X18 is the best and wisest choice.
